Netflix hasn't yet officially renewed or cancel Warrior Nun season 2, given that the series has just recently arrived on the streaming service. Still, many we're optimistic it is coming back for another season as it becomes the #4 most-watched title on the platform following its release.

Netflix usually waits for weeks or months before announcing the renewal status of a show. This is a way to gauge the viewing figures and to determine whether there's a demand for another installment. Hence, we need to wait for a while to see what the future holds for Warrior Nun season 2.

But while there is a good chance it will be renewed, there is also a concern here. Netflix has a history of suddenly canceling shows -- just like Santa Clarita Diet. A lot of series have been canceled after just running for one of two seasons.

What viewers need to do now is to check out the series right away, as well as watch the entirety of the season. As per CarterMatt, this could help the streaming service indicate that viewers want more of the series. So, they might consider bringing Warrior Nun season 2 on the platform.

Meanwhile, the show is a mid-budget scripted series, meaning it requires considerable VFX work. There's usually a wait for more than a year between seasons, so it may not be coming back anytime soon -- if ever renewed on Netflix.

In addition, the current global health crisis makes it hard for most TV shows to start filming. Yet, the industry is hoping to open film sets within the next few months. If Netflix does renew Warrior Nun season 2, then it could likely premiere some time in 2021.

As for the story, the first installment ended with a massive cliffhanger. It was revealed that the "angel" Adriel was not an angel at all -- but a devil who stole the halo. He hid the artifact to the original Warrior Nun and made the Order of the Cruciform Sword to protect himself from the wrath of Heaven.

He was trapped inside a tomb beneath the Vatican City but was able to break free and summoned an army of wrath demons. The first installment concluded with Shotgun Mary being overwhelmed by possessed people while the nuns fight against Adriel and his demons.

The ending sets up more stories and new fights. And while answering some questions, it could open up new mysteries along the way. For instance, there's a question as to where the portal leads that Jillian Salvius' son went through.

In Warrior Nun season 2, we could also see the Order of the Cruciform Sword trying to figure out its true purpose. Since its origins have been exposed as a lie, more secrets will unfold. All of these could be explored is ever the series comes back for more.
