Amazon Prime Video recently dropped the second installment of Hanna, which opens more stories to the titular character. There are only a few details about the future of the series since it just premiered on the streaming platform. For now, here's everything we know about Hanna season 3.

At the moment, Amazon Prime Video hasn't yet officially renewed or canceled Hanna season 3. The second installment was renewed two weeks after the first season premiered. Hence, the streaming platform may follow this in announcing the third season.

But even if the series is renewed, there are uncertainties when it comes to its future. For instance, production may not start immediately because of the global health crisis. If it wouldn't begin production until 2021, Screenrant noted we could see the third installment in 2022.

Meanwhile, Hanna season 3 could bring almost everyone from Utrax back -- except for Leo Garner and Clara, who was seemingly written out of the story and got a happy ending. Hence, Hanna, Sandy, John Carmichael, Marissa Wiegler, Jules Allen, and Terri Miller are all returning.

As for the story, the ending of the second installment sets up a new mission of the third installment. Under the command of Marissa, Utrax goes to war against the Pioneer Group. The latter is mysterious group of top-level CIA brass who took over the agency to pursue their own agenda.

Through Carmichael, the Pioneer Group planned to use Utrax as their weapons -- a plot Marissa has uncovered. So, she planned to take Utrax away from Carmichael and use them to fight Pioneer Group, and it will involve Hanna -- the best super soldier Utrax has.

Hanna season 3 is moving into a new direction, giving the titular character a chance to fight for a life where she's finally free. In a report via Entertainment Weekly, while creator and showrunner David Farr isn't giving details on what to expect next, he revealed he already planned the third installment in his mind.

Farr told that outlet that at the end of season 2, he has a plan in his imagination for where the story goes. He also said that he had conversations about the future of the series, but they have to wait and see - -just like any other TV shows.

In Hanna season 3, Farr noted he always had it in mind where it would go. While the first two seasons expanded the story, charted new territories, and introduced new faces, we're going to see the Utrax trainees blossomed into full-fledged assassins in the third installment.
