There is no stopping Cristiano Ronaldo from his campaign of winning games and in the process, writing and breaking football records. Juventus overwhelmed Torino, 4-1, on Saturday and again the Portuguese superstar hogged the spotlight by achieving another football milestone.

The Old Lady dominated the game and according to Ronaldo, one part of his purpose in going to the match was unlocked. Juventus won and the 35-year-old said the victory was well-deserved.

He admitted though that he has been looking out to score a free-kick. The goal was achieved during the game but the better news is that Juventus emerged the winning team.

"I was waiting to score on a free-kick. I'm happy, but it's important to win regardless of who scores. We are improving as a team, that's what matters," ESPN reported the Juventus star as saying.

He added that the free-kick served as a boost to his confidence, apparently a problem that has been solved gradually in the past few games with Ronaldo finding the net four times since the games were restarted.

Remarkably, the free-kick against Torino is Ronaldo's first for the Italian giants and No. 55 of his career. And in the same game, the striker registered his 25th goal of the season, which served as another distinction for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

ESPN said Ronaldo is now the first player in the Premier League era to have scored 25 goals in Italy, Spain, and England. He has set a new record that likely will stand for a long time.

The last time a Juventus man achieved the same was in 1961 and courtesy of Omar Sivori. His record stood for about 60 years and was only matched by Ronaldo, who just started playing for the Turin club in 2018.

Sivori clocked 27 points in 1960 and it shouldn't be a problem for Ronaldo to smash that record soon, given his previous spells in top-flight clubs that were marked by multiple title wins and personal honors.

For instance, Metro said the Portuguese kicked in record goals in two memorable seasons wearing the Manchester United and Real Madrid shirts. In season 2007-08, Ronaldo scored 31 goals and capped the campaign by powering the Red Devils to a Champions League win.

Ronaldo then switched sides and brought his game to La Liga and in season 2014-15, the prolific goalscorer registered 48 goals in the domestic competition alone.

Before his departure in 2018, Ronaldo was undeniably instrumental in the Los Blancos dominating La Liga for nearly a decade and securing three Champions League titles.

The season has yet to end in Italy and already Ronaldo has 57 goals to his name in all competitions, with 46 all pocketed in Serie A games. And it should be noted that the Portuguese continues to shine while the Serie A lead is enjoyed by Juventus.
