It's unfortunate fanatics have to resort to hijacking kids' games believing it would do their campaign good. It's poor taste, considering "Roblox" has more than 100 million active players, the majority of them being kids.

The BBC reports that hackers are taking over "Roblox" accounts to promote pro-Trump propaganda. Many avatars now don red hats displayed in profiles with pro-Trump messages.

Players have taken to social media to report these incidents, showing their accounts with avatars changed to wear a shirt with an American flag and eagle, and that familiar red hat with white, bold lettering known as the MAGA hat.

According to Gamespot, hackers are taking advantage of the fact that "Roblox" accounts are indexed by Google, so it's easy to see many accounts featuring the same message in a user's "about field" that says "Ask your parents to vote for Trump this year!#Maga2020." A quick search on Google will show you around 1,700 results.

"Roblox" has a help site that contains information should players find their accounts hacked. In it, its official advises players to change their password, allow two-factor authentication, and clear third-party browser extensions.

The Trump hacks happening right now, however, appear that hackers are making changes to people's accounts and characters, so that may not be enough. A more rigid solution might be needed in order for accounts not to be compromised. If you find yourself hacked, best to contact customer service so they can reverse the changes done to your character.

There is no information as of this writing how hackers were able to gain access to several accounts. Pro-Trump hackers are also sending propaganda messages and spamming friend requests.

Many users have reported receiving messages from hacked friends with similar "ask your parents" encouragement posted on their profiles. Several others have reported that all their friend requests have been approved just so the hacker can send the same message to more users.

Online players are always faced with security issues, especially these days when a pandemic is happening.  However, it's alarming they are now targeting games targeted at kids.

"Roblox" has parental controls, chat filters, and reporting systems in order to make the platform safe for kids of all ages. But these hackers still managed to penetrate the game's system anyway.

It's not known who is responsible for the hacks as of the moment, but Trump communities have been known for their aggression online, making it harder to pinpoint the culprits.
