Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are hoping to make a fresh start in the US after they officially stepped down as senior royals. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently living in Los Angeles with their son Archie.
It is believed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be launching their new brand in the US after quitting royal life. Previous reports claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to close down their Sussex Royal Foundation as they start their new life outside the Royal family.
Now, a new report revealed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s US dream could be put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex already announced the name of their new foundation Archewell back in April. Although the charity is expected to launch later this year, the couple had been working on it for months.
There were also whispers and speculations that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will try their luck in the entertainment scene. The Duchess of Sussex already did her Hollywood comeback when she narrated for a Disney documentary titled Elephant back in August last year and was released in April of this year.
As for Prince Harry, he showed interest in doing voiceovers as well. When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex met Disney CEO Bob Iger at the London premiere of The Lion King, he shared that he’s open to doing that kind of job.
Unfortunately, the coronavirus outbreak ruined all of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s plans. Also, the couple didn’t get a warm welcome in the US when President Donald Trump made it clear that the United States government will not pay for their security.
A spokesperson for the couple then noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not planning to ask for security from the government. "The duke and duchess have no plans to ask the US government for security resources. Privately funded security arrangements have been made,” they said.
Now that they are not receiving any funds from The Firm, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will have to find ways to afford their lavish lifestyle. Earlier reports revealed that Prince Charles is paying for the couple’s round the clock security.
Meanwhile, after their big move, people have been speculating that Prince Harry will be applying for US citizenship. But the Duke of Sussex shared that he will not apply for it in the foreseeable future.
