Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Queen Elizabeth is spending most of her time indoor than completing her normal royal duties. A previous report claimed that Her Majesty may be passing most of her duties to Prince Charles next year. This decision led to speculations that the Queen’s reign may be coming to an end.

Prince Charles is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip. Once Her Majesty decided to retire, or there will be some circumstances that she couldn’t lead the monarchy anymore, the Prince of Wales will serve as King as he is the heir apparent to the British throne.

However, royal expert Victoria Arbiter claimed that a lot of people would rather see Prince William take the throne once Queen Elizabeth steps down or dies. She told Channel 5's documentary William & Kate: Too Good To Be True that many want to skip Prince Charles and go straight to the Duke of Cambridge.

But then Channel 5's royal correspondent Simon Vigar noted that Queen Elizabeth is known for sticking to the rules, so she would not allow the idea of skipping Prince Charles. He also pointed out that Prince William wouldn’t want to take the throne from his father as well.

"The Queen doesn't believe in breaking the rules, she does not want Charles to step aside when she passes. William doesn't want that to happen,” he said.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are two of the most popular and well-loved members of the royal family, which is why it is not hard to see why the public would like to see the Duke of Cambridge become the next King ahead of his father. Prince Charles, on the other hand, garnered a lot of hate after his disastrous marriage with Princess Diana.

Prince Charles is also, reportedly, making Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip worry if he is fit to be King. Royal historian Dr. Kate Williams noted that Prince Charles has sparked criticism from the public for his outspokenness. The Royal Family is expected to remain neutral on most matters, but the future King is not afraid to share his personal opinions.

Prince Charles is known for his deep-rooted love of the environment. The future king would share updates about environmental issues to spread awareness about the matter.

In fact, Prince Charles pleaded that everyone should learn their lessons and change their behaviors once the coronavirus pandemic ends. He urged Britons and people all around the world not to return to their old ways of living. Instead, everyone should understand the “crucial importance of Nature.”
