Kate Middleton is drawing both worry and confusion from royal fans because she failed to practice social distancing or wear a face mask in her recent face-to-face royal engagement. The Duchess of Cambridge spent some time at hospice center one weekend to help the families plant a new garden by the patio.

However, Royally Obsessed podcast host Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie expressed surprised that Kate Middleton was not observing the six feet distance rule when around a crowd of people. The royal fans said that the Duchess of Cambridge was also in a hospice, which normally advises people to wear face masks around sick children.

The royal fans said that Prince William wore a mask and observed social distancing when he visited Oxford University to talk to the scientists making the coronavirus vaccine. Prince Harry and Meghan, as well as Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, were also seen wearing face masks in public. So, the podcast hosts were surprised that Kate Middleton was not advised to do the same.

Meanwhile, a report from New Idea suggested that Kate Middleton is not in a rush to go back to in-person royal engagements. She has been productive with Zoom meetings since the lockdown.

According to a source, the Duchess of Cambridge has been able to work better from home. She feels that she is able to speak to more specific people via video calls personally, instead of being in a crowd to meet and shake hands.

The source also said that Kate Middleton is worried that she might catch the virus and bring it back home to her kids. However, the duchess is still slowly resuming to her face-to-face engagements as this is her obligation.

Her casual encounter with an elderly couple at the garden center in Norfolk was quite awkward. Apparently, it took a while for the people to recognize the Duchess of Cambridge.

She tried to talk to the other customers who were buying herbs but were actually brushed off, according to Fiorito and Bowie in their podcast. The customers realized much later that it was the Duchess of Cambridge who attempted to make conversations with them and they were quite apologetic for not speaking with her properly.

Kate Middleton also returned to her first in-person royal engagement with Prince William since the lockdown. They hosted an afternoon tea with the NHS staff to celebrate the institution's 72 years.
