Kate Middleton recently visited the children's hospice center, The Nook, to bring lots of plants and flowers to the kids. The families of the children, who are getting treatments at the hospice center, were, reportedly, left so touched by the Duchess of Cambridge's gesture.
According to Tracey Rennie, the CEO of The Nook, Kate Middleton was keen to drop by the hospice center for some time amid the coronavirus pandemic. When she finally did get to visit, the Duchess of Cambridge apparently blew away the staff and the families because she brought several plants for them to build a garden at the hospice.
Rennie said in an Heirpod podcast that Kate Middleton was incredibly friendly, open and caring during her visit. She is the type of person that was easy to talk to and she engaged the families by discussing their children's disabilities and struggles.
The CEO said that Kate might not have realized just how much she created precious memories with her visit. Having the Duchess of Cambridge around them brought a positive impact to these struggling families.
Kate Middleton actually reached out to The Nook because she wanted to learn more about the children's experiences and struggles in hospice facilities. She was very informal and made a point to talk to some of the hospice staff privately as well.
The Duchess of Cambridge is the patron of the East Anglia's Children's Hospices, where The Nook is part of, since 2012. Before she left The Nook, she told the staff and the families that she will return as she was genuinely interested on the progress of their garden, as much as the state of the children getting care at the hospice center.
Meanwhile, a royal observer said Kate Middleton has been showing the world she is so much more relaxed in her role as a working royal. Body language expert Judi James revealed that Kate has dropped some of her more formal skills when talking to other people, especially in this coronavirus pandemic.
Kate's body language apparently shows that she is trying to bridge social distancing with her "facial expressions and gesticulations" to make her more accessible to people. This belies rumors that stated Kate is "struggling" in her royal role because there's more work to do since Prince Harry and Meghan quit their royal duties.
James said that Kate Middleton's more recent actions show that her interpersonal skills have been "notched up" and she's more relaxed to do solo royal engagements. To the expert, this means Kate is ready for more leadership roles within the royal family.
