Meghan Markle filed a lawsuit against the publisher of The Mail on Sunday and MailOnline for publishing part of her private letter to her estranged father Thomas Markle in 2018. In the documents, the Duchess of Sussex’s legal team claimed that she was “unprotected by the Institution and prohibited from defending herself.”
Just like Meghan Markle, Mike Tindall was also married into the Royal Family. He is the husband of Zara Tindall, who is the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth.
But unlike Meghan Markle, Mike Tindall had nothing but good things to say about the Royal Family, especially for their support. The former rugby union player gave the Duchess of Sussex public advice just days before she tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018. He said that he knows the former actress would be nervous, but considering her background in Hollywood, he knows that she’ll be fine with the public spotlight.
Then, Mike Tindall shared his thoughts about the Royal Family. He revealed one of the things that he loves about Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family members.
“The best thing about the Royal Family is that they are so lovely and they’ll spot the people who are looking a little bit nervous and go straight over and take away all of that tension straight out of the room,” he shared.
Mike Tindall’s revelation contradicted Meghan Markle’s claims that she is “unprotected” by the Royal Family. Her friends were, reportedly, worried about her welfare, especially because she was pregnant at the time.
Meghan Markle denied that she gave her friends the authority to do the interview. The Duchess of Sussex shared that she had no idea that the interview was done and only found out about it after the article was published. Her five friends spoke anonymously to People magazine, but they were identified in the documents.
This was not the first time that Meghan Markle implied that the Royal Family did not support her. The Duchess of Sussex opened up about her struggles to Tom Bradby in the documentary titled Harry & Meghan: An African Journey last year, revealing that nobody asked if she was okay. The former actress' revelation seemingly hinted that the Royal Family did not care about her situation.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently living in Los Angeles with their son Archie. The couple is making a fresh start in the US after they officially stepped down from their senior royal roles at the end of March.
