Former 2NE1 members Sandara Park and Minzy recently made emotional revelations about their group's disbandment during an episode of Video Star.
During a recent guest stint , Minzy reunited with Dara, who was one of the regular hosts of the show.
While BLACKJACKs were a great source of strength for 2NE1 members, they agreed that they had their fair share of nasty comments back in the day, which is similar to the experiences of the current batch of idols.
According to Minzy, one of the most hurtful comments she received pertained to her looks. The malicious commenter wondered how Minzy could be a singer when she was so ugly. 2NE1's maknae said that she was unprepared for the nasty comment because all along, she believed that the most important thing for an entertainer was talent.
She said that because she was so young then, it also caused her to doubt herself by starting to wonder if she was that bad looking.
Minzy said that she also suffered from a lot of nasty words when she decided to leave 2NE1 and YG Entertainment to embark on a solo career.
Negative commenters, reportedly, labeled her as a backstabber, which caused her to steer clear of the internet for a while.For her part, Minzy took the time to clear the air once and for all.
She explained that she experienced a lot of frustration because of the long period of hiatus that they had to endure in between promotions.She even compared their comebacks to the Olympics which happened roughly every four years. Throughout the seven-year career of 2NE1, they were only able to come out with two full albums, which led Minzy to be depressed.
Minzy also thanked Dara for inspiring her to get back on her feet after she again suffered from more than three years of hiatus as a solo artist.
She said that seeing Dara take on different challenges after 2NE1's disbandment and growing as a person made her want to do better. She referred to Dara as the mom of the group who always took care of everyone.
After hearing Minzy's words, Dara who is a known crybaby, also shed tears while admitting that always felt apologetic to Minzy because she might not have been able to care for her enough during their 2NE1 days. She said that Minzy must have suffered through a lot, especially when she started so young with 2NE1.
Minzy recently made her solo comeback after parting ways from Music Works with the inspiring track Lovely. The song encourages listeners to look deep inside themselves to appreciate the loveliness inside, All Kpop reported.
