On Wednesday, July 9, Netflix announced that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 4 serves as the series finale. In a report via TVLine, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has something to say regarding the show's ending.
Aguirre-Sacasa said that working on the series has been an incredible honor since day one. He mentioned the cast, particularly the lead star Kiernan Shipka, for being an absolute joy. He also thanked the writers, editors, crew, assistants, and all those who have been part of the series.
The executive producer added he's grateful to their partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television, as well as Archie Comics for allowing them to deliver the story they wanted to tell. He then ended his message by saying he can't wait for everyone to see Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 4.
There is no clear indication as to why the series is ending on Netflix. The performance may not be a factor here, especially since the show has a dedicated audience. However, Netflix isn't releasing ratings for its series, so it's hard to speculate the real reason for the show's ending.
The final installment will, reportedly, consist of eight episodes. The official release date wasn't yet confirmed, but Netflix noted it will be arriving later this year. Some speculated it could come out either late October or early November -- which is a perfect time for Halloween.
As for what we can expect, the Eldritch Terrors will descend upon Greendale in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina season 4. The coven needs to fight each terrifying threat one-by-one, including The Darkness, The Weird, and The Returned.
All of these will then lead to The Void, which is said to be the End of All Things. With the help of The Fright Club, the witches wage war. And as for Nick, he will try slowly to earn his way back into Sabrina's heart. But the question now is: is everything too late?

Shipka will reprise here titular character, along with Gavin Leatherwood as Nicholas Scratch, Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, Chance Perdomo as Ambrose Spellman, Lucy Davis as Hilda Spellman, Miranda Otto as Zelda Spellman, Michelle Gomez as Madam Satan, Lachlan Watson as Theo Putnam, and Jaz Sinclair as Rosalind Walker.
