Controversy became synonymous with Kevin Durant the day he chose to do a LeBron James. He walked away from OKC in 2016 and joined up with Golden State to win NBA rings, which he did. However, the bad press did not stop for KD.

Durant's move four years ago created a backlash, and like James, he was painted the selfish villain looking for the satisfaction he never had at Oklahoma. The Nets star was resigned to the fact that people will see him on the bad light, and such was out of his control.

However, while he conceded that he might have acted in bad faith in the eyes of many, Durant seemed convinced to this day that what he took a few years back was "the hardest road to a championship."

Per the report by Fadeaway World, Durant had the realization that his unpopular decision damaged the name that was unsullied during his Oklahoma City days. With the Warriors, he saw the fulfillment of his dreams, but it became clear too that he has become the opposite of a superhero.

With OKC, KD enjoyed admiration and respect, and he got the same with the Dubs. But it's hard to deny that some of the attention given to him these days were prompted by hate and disappointment. And ironically, Durant did the same with Golden State when he left the team in a complete surprise.

That episode cemented his new role as one of the most infamous figures in the NBA.

Durant claimed that leaving OKC was one of the hardest decisions he had to make, but in his agony, he made millions, won two NBA rings, and captured two NBA Finals MVP. As the same report suggested, it must have been so traumatic for the Nets superstar that he had to repeat the same sorry move in 2019.

So now in Brooklyn, the controversies coming to KD's way seemed without a letup. The latest to scar him is what looked like an innocent social media activity. The Nets superstar liked a post that was described as "offensive, harmful, and appalling."

Durant liking a post by NFL star DeSean Jackson, a fellow athlete and perhaps a friend, appeared a non-issue at the onset. But the content was reeking of anti-Semitism that seemingly was approved by a public figure believed at the forefront of the fight against racism.

To be fair with KD, it's still unclear if he had a full grasp of the message that was shared. Fadeaway World said in a separate report that the NBA star could be merely showing support to the persons behind the social media post.

However, prudence and sensitivity are only expected from personalities like Durant as he is part of the movement that is promoting social justice and racial equality. The NBA star and his colleagues are trying to get the message out on their cause, but bad judgment could render them ineffective, added the report.
