As Lin Manuel Miranda's famous musical Hamilton will make its way to Disney+, let's look back the time that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle watched the comical portrayal of King George III. The couple attended the show for a couple of times, which was for the benefit of Sentebale, a cause the Duke of Sussex co-founded with Prince Seeiso in 2006 to support the youth affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana.

As King George is Prince Harry's distant relative, did he mind the jokes that were told about the former king of Great Britain? By the looks of it, it seemed he just disregarded it.

According to Town & Country, King George is Prince Harry's ancestor. He is both the sixth in line to the throne's "six times great grandfather and five times great grandfather," among other relations. He was the grandfather of Queen Victoria, who was Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's great-great-grandmother, so Harry was related to George in both sides.

Hence, Miranda was also quite worried to bring Hamilton in the UK, knowing that King George was a former monarch. In an interview with The Guardian in 2017, he asked Helen Mirren, who was one of the firsts who saw the musical, if Britain would be bothered to see their portrayal of George.

As a Dame, the English actress disagreed and even said that they loved it when he took the piss, which meant "to make a joke" in English. Surely, Prince Harry also agreed.

Cheat Sheet added the royals seemed to enjoy the production. Meghan's husband even took a jab at his ancestor's lyrics when he went to the stage. When he appeared to start singing the song by starting his speech with "you say," the audience and Miranda started to clap.

But, Prince Harry stopped to continue singing, saying that it was never going to happen. In his excitement, Miranda re-shared the video of Harry's speech and said the latter tried to sing a few lines.

In his appearance on The Graham Norton Show in 2018, Miranda also revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan had seen the musical in secret once and even proudly said that they were big fans of the production. Talking about how Harry felt about their portrayal of his six-time great-grandfather, he explained that the price "took the whole thing in stride."

Although Miranda admitted that they all made a joke about King George, they were glad that Prince Harry never took it personally. So, by the looks of it, the duke is indeed a fan of Hamilton and has no problem with the comical portrayal of his royal ancestor.
