Speculations about AOA's bullying scandal have, once again, resurfaced when Mina unfollowed two of her former AOA co-members, Seolhyun and Chanmi, on social media.
According to a report by All Kpop, Mina netizens noticed that Mina unfollowed Seolhyun and Chanmi on their social media accounts, leading fans to doubt the state of the former AOA members' relationship in the aftermath of the bullying scandal.
It can be recalled that Mina, recently, opened up about being bullied by former AOA leader Jimin for the 10 years she stayed with AOA. Mina accused Jimin of being harsh and dismissive towards her which led to several attempts of taking her own life.
Fans were shocked to learn about the extent of emotional abuse that Mina suffered in silence, especially when she revealed screenshots of Jimin's messages to her. Mina left AOA in May 2019 to shift to acting.
After the scandal and the flood of negative criticism, Mina revealed that members of AOA went to see her apologize for their behavior and described Jimin's apology to be callous and insincere. Publicly, Jimin posted her apology to Mina on social media and said that she understood if Mina will not immediately forgive her for her actions. She admitted her lapses as a leader and apologized to fans as well.
The apology was met with even more criticism and in the end, FNC Entertainment announced that Jimin will no longer be part of AOA and will be ceasing promotions in the entertainment industry as well.
It can be recalled that this was not the first time that Seolhyun received hate over the AOA bullying scandal because of her close relationship with Jimin.
A recent unrelated post was, reportedly, flooded with negative comments blaming her for standing by and doing nothing while Jimin abused Mina. Netizens called her out for remaining silent and for acting as a bystander when the situation reached the level that Mina almost took her own life. Fans accused her of enabling Jimin's negative behavior with her casual attitude.
Meanwhile, Mina received even more support after unfollowing Seolhyun and Chanmi.
According to fans, Mina made the right call by cutting off people like Seolhyun and Chanmi from her life. Some speculated that Mina may have felt fed up when the two members seemed to act like everything was okay by liking her posts on social media after apologizing to her when the scandal came out. Netizens applauded the move as a brave choice so she can completely move on and focus on getting better from her experience.
