Michelle Obama is one of the most popular and well-loved First Ladies of the United States. In fact, even the Royal Family members, especially Meghan Markle, is a huge fan of her.
Multiple reports revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might be following the footsteps of Barack and Michelle Obama. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex even signed a deal with New York-based Harry Walker Agency last month, which is the same agency as the former U.S. President.
Since Meghan Markle also supports similar causes as Michelle Obama, the Duchess of Sussex is thought to have a special relationship with the former First Lady. Meghan even met secretly with Michelle Obama in London to ask for help. Their first meeting was early into her role as the Duchess of Sussex.
Last year, Michelle Obama revealed the real status of her relationship with Meghan Markle when she posted a photo of the Duchess of Sussex during the reception for Young People at the Residence of the British High Commissioner in Cape Town. The former First Lady’s caption confirmed their close bond.
“Thank you to my friend, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex, a thoughtful leader who is breaking the mold and making our world better for it… she is an inspiration to so many,” she wrote.
Just like Michelle Obama, Meghan Markle also did her best as the wife of a very prominent person in their country. However, the Duchess of Sussex didn’t seem to handle the tough situation too well as she and Prince Harry stepped down from their senior royal roles just two years after they got married.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shocked the world when they announced in January that they would be withdrawing from their roles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared that they wish to focus on their family and charities as they live a more “peaceful life” while being “financially independent.”
The couple is, currently, living in Los Angeles with their son Archie. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are hoping to make a fresh start in the U.S. They even announced the name of their new foundation Archewell back in April. Unfortunately, their plans were put on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak.
As for another link to the Obamas, a previous report claimed that Meghan Markle got her eyes on the U.S. Presidency. Royal author Lady Colin Campbell said that the Duchess of Sussex plans to move into the White House.
