Megan Markle and Prince Harry signed a deal with New York-based Harry Walker Agency last month. The agency that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed up for is the same one as former U.S. president Barack Obama. Its other high-profile clients include former first couple Hillary and Bill Clinton, and "Queen of Talk" Oprah Winfrey.

However, a new report claimed this was not the first sign that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hinted that they want to follow the footsteps of the Obamas. The connection, reportedly, stretched back as far as 2016, when Michelle Obama traveled to Morocco and Liberia to promote gender equality with the Let Girls Learn initiative.

In February 2019, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, also, went to Morocco to prioritize the same cause. Writer Jenna Milliner-Waddell examined the similarities of Michelle Obama and the Duchess of Sussex.

“Not only is the comparison between Meghan and Obama a flattering one, but it further justifies the recent splitting of the courts between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Prince William and Kate Middleton,” she wrote last year.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have, officially, stepped down as senior royals two months after they announced that they would be withdrawing from their roles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, then, moved to Canada before heading to Los Angeles, where they are, currently, living with their son Archie.

In their withdrawal announcement, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle mentioned that they wish to be “financially independent” as they start their new life outside the Royal family. Although they still receive funds from Prince Charles and the Duchy of Cornwall, the couple needs to find sources of income.

Previous reports revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be creating their own TV firm. Rumor has it that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be providing voiceovers and producing documentaries on “worthy causes” and this is where they will be earning their money.

If that’s not enough proof that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are changing Royal Family traditions, the couple, recently, did something different to mark their son’s first birthday. Archie turned one on May 6 and many were expecting to see him on his special day. Since Kate Middleton had been sharing snaps of her and Prince William’s children to mark their special milestones, many were speculating that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will do the same as well.

However, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared more than just photos of Archie on his first birthday. Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared an adorable storytime video and royal commentator Camilla Tominey believes that the couple is set to change up Royal Family traditions.
