Archie Harrison is currently residing in Los Angeles with his parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making a fresh start in the US after they officially stepped down from their senior royal roles at the end of March.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are rubbing shoulders with the Hollywood elite after their big move to the US. Now, a report claims that their son Archie Harrison could run for US President one day.
US Presidential candidates have a lot of diversity. In fact, rapper Kanye West, who has no political background, proposed that he will be running for presidency this year.
The only thing that US Presidential candidates must have is that they should be naturalized US citizens. Since Baby Archie will spend the foreseeable future growing up in the US, this could give him the validity to run for the position when he’s old enough.
Meanwhile, a previous report claims that it was Meghan Markle who got her eyes on the US Presidency. Royal author Lady Colin Campbell said that the Duchess of Sussex plans to move into the White House.
“I know the Duchess of Sussex has political ambitions and I’ve been told that one day she wants to run for President.” Lady Campbell, who has written a book on the couple called “Meghan and Harry the real story,” told the Daily Mail. She added that the Duchess of Sussex leaving the royal family and going back to the US with Princ Harry was a part of her plan.
If this is indeed true, there is a high chance that Meghan Markle will receive even more backlash for this decision. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were labeled “cruel” for abandoning the royal family amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As for Archie, he will still be a prince despite his parents’ effort to distance him from the Royal bubble. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wished to raise their son as a private citizen. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex registered him as Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor even though the little boy was entitled to take his father’s subsidiary title Earl of Dumbarton.
According to royal experts, Archie is still destined to be a duke and a prince despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal exit. The one-year-old will inherit the Duke of Sussex's title after his father’s death. He will also be a prince when Queen Elizabeth dies.
