The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced back in January that they would be stepping down from their senior roles to focus on their family and charities.
While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision came to a shock to everyone, including the Royal Family, a report claimed that they have already been planning their big move a long time ago. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex initially wanted to split their time between the UK and the US, but Queen Elizabeth, reportedly, suggested they should spend the majority of their time away from the UK after their royal exit.
But even before Queen Elizabeth’s suggestion, previous sources already believed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry would not stay in the UK. “More and more friends are worried that they’ll just get on a plane and live in LA and never come back,” an insider said in 2018.
In September, a source in LA claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were already looking for a place “six to nine months” before the interview was made.
Another tipster shared that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s idea was to have a second home in the US, where they can get away to during the holidays. Insiders also purported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were checking out some houses in Calabasas earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry didn’t disclose their location in the US for security and privacy purposes. However, their Zoom call back in May seemed to have given everyone a hint as to where they are residing at the moment.
Just like most places, Los Angeles is also put into lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had been using Zoom to video call various foundations during the pandemic.
According to royal commentators Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito, these video calls led fans to gather clues as to where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are residing in Los Angeles. There were previous speculations that the couple is living in Tyler Perry’s £18 million mansion in Beverly Ridge Estates, which is an exclusive and guard-gated community.
