Hallmark Channel officially renewed Good Witch season 7 and many were delighted with the news. There is no real concern even before the renewal announcement was made since the series is one of the most successful shows in the network.
Prior to the official renewal announcement, many were optimistic Good Witch season 7 is happening on Hallmark Channel. After all, the series has devoted viewers who are eager to see more of the series. So, it only makes sense the network has now finally renewed the show.
Aside from this good news, the series also revealed who are the returning cast members in the next installment. There have been questions whether or not Kat Barrell, who joined in season 6, is coming back as Joy Harper. Now, it was confirmed that she's still appearing in the new season.
But then, it remains to be seen whether she'll be part the entire Good Witch season 7, considering her role on Syfy's Wynonna Earp. Another returning cast member is Scott Cavalheiro, as TVLine confirmed the actor will reprise his role as Adam Hawkins in the new installment.
Based on what happened to him in season 6 finale, it's clear that there are questions about his story -- with some speculating he's leaving the series. But, it looks like the writers have plans to keep him around in the show. After all, many were rooting for him and Stephanie.
In addition to Bell and Cavalheiro, other returning cast members include Catherine Bell as Cassie Nightingale, Sarah Power as Abigail Pershin, Catherine Disher as Martha Tinsdale, Kylee Evans as Stephanie Borden, and Marc Bendavid as Donovan Davenport.
When it comes to the release date, Good Witch season 7 is not set to arrive until 2021. Filming has been impacted due to the current global health crisis, so cast and crew won't be able to start working anytime soon. The production could begin once the situation gets a little bit better.
While filming could start in the fall, that may still change depending on the situation. The location of the series is in Canada, and it managed to handle the health crisis well. Despite that, there are some restrictions imposed in Toronto before everyone could start working again.
It a previous interview with KTLA, Bell said they could probably begin filming Good Witch season 7 in September. If ever that schedule will be followed, there are some guidelines they needed to follow, including cast and crew going into a 14-day quarantine period.
