South Korea is an amazing country where a lot of tourists love to visit. Aside from its exciting places such as Gyeongbokgung Palace of Seoul, Haeundae Beach, and Geumjeongsan Mountain trails of Busan, Hallasan Mountain, beaches, lava tubes, and theme parks of Jeju-do, and Seawater saunas, Nanta Theatre, and Folklore Museum of Jeju-si, one of the reasons why tourists can't get enough of the place are its street foods.

Are you craving for these foods? Let not the coronavirus hinder you to give in to your cravings. Make one for yourself instead.

To create these cylinder-shaped spicy-sweet Korean rice cakes, what you will need are these ingredients: 300g fresh rice cakes (soaked in water for 20 minutes), 2 sheets of fish cakes (cut into smaller pieces), thinly sliced 1/2 white onion, 145g of cabbage leaves (sliced thinly), a stalk of spring onion (chopped), and a tablespoon of cooking oil for sauteing. You may also want to include roasted sesame seeds for garnishing, as advised by My Korean Kitchen

For the sauce, the ingredients you will be needing are 2 tablespoons of sugar, 2 tablespoons of Gochujang (Korean chili paste), half a teaspoon of Gochugaru (Korean chili powder), a third of a cup of water, and a teaspoon of minced garlic. Add everything in a bowl. Set aside.

The first thing to do to make your very own tteokbokki is to saute your onions in oil on medium-high heat. Stir until the onions are well cooked.

The second thing is to put in the cabbage. Stir and wait for a couple of seconds until your greens have softened.

Next is to add the rice cakes, fish cakes, and the sauce. Stir until everything is well incorporated. Turn the heat to low.

Lastly, add your spring onions. Stir your dish for just a few seconds. Put your dish unto your plate. Complete the look by sprinkling some sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

The best thing about tteokbokki is not just its taste, but also the nutrients that come with it. Some of those are protein, potassium, calcium, iron, and vitamins A and C.

Other Korean street foods you should try after these pandemic are Eomuk Tang (Fishcakes), Donuts, Stewed Pork Feet, Banana Milk, Kimchi-Ppang, Live Octopus, Bindaetteok (Mung Bean Pancake), Kimbap, Blood Sausage, and Gyeran-Bbang. Croissant Boong-Uh-Ppang, Hweori Gamja (Tornado Potato), Gamja Hot Dog, and Korean Grilled Cheese Lobster are also recommended, as shared by A Taste of Koko.
