According to a new report, a new "Splinter Cell" game is in the works and could launch as early as 2021. "Splinter Cell" is one of the most requested titles of most Ubisoft fans since the gaming studio did not release any new installment to the dormant franchise. While Ubisoft has stayed mum about a potential new game, it keeps on trolling about it by teasing appearances of Sam Fisher.

New "Splinter Cell" Title In The Works?

While this could mean nothing, some fans are hopeful that the recent statement of Luca Ward is hinting about a new "Splinter Cell" title. In a recent interview with Multiplayer, the voice actor of Sam Fisher for the game's Italian language said something that excites fans. According to him, Ubisoft is working on a conclusive episode of "Splinter Cell."

However, Ward admitted in the interview that he is not sure how the conclusive episode could fit into the "Splinter Cell" storyline. The voice actor also mentioned that the new "Splinter Cell" title was initially planned to arrive this year. However, presumably because of the current global health crisis, it was pushed back along with several other gaming studio projects.

While Luca Ward could be a good source of information about the new "Splinter Cell" game, Gamerant said that he has been hinting about the new installment since 2018. In his interview with Multiplayer, Ward acknowledged this and apologized for sharing a piece of misleading information. He reasoned hat he was acting on the evidence he had at that time.

Other "Splinter Cell" Details

The Information previously shared a rumor about a new "Assassin's Creed" and "Splinter Cell" game in the works. The report said that these titles were exclusively in development for the Oculus VR platform. Following the report, the industry has not heard anything about these titles, which some sites believe could be what Ward could be referring to.

In other words, the new "Splinter Cell" game may be a Virtual Reality experience exclusive, Wccftech speculates. If this is the case, the game could be a first-person only, which is a massive departure from the TPP game fans have grown to love. In its recent Ubisoft Forward event, the gaming studio did not mention anything about "Splinter Cell."

The studio, however, still features the iconic Sam Fisher in some of its games. He appeared last March 2020 in "Ghost Recon Breakpoint." The last "Splinter Cell" title that Ubisoft released was in 2013.
