A "Super Mario" Twitter account was recently uncovered by eagle-eyed fans on the social microblogging site. Several fans claimed that the said account might be related to the iconic game's upcoming 35th anniversary. Others believe that it gives more credence to rumors that Nintendo is working on a "Super Mario" remaster title.

The account in question has the Twitter handle @Supermario35th. Interestingly, the account was registered in March 2020, shows the name 'aaaaaaaaaaa' and has no activity. The discovery was first reported by VGC, citing a Twitter user for the information.

The site added that the Twitter account's recovery email reportedly linked with "Super Mario" 35th anniversary is connected to Nintendo. Additionally, the site revealed that although the characters are obscured for security purposes, they align with the company's Nintendo.co.jp's address. Moreover, both the official Twitter accounts of SplatoonJP and SmashBrosJP utilize the same email address.

At this point, it is impossible to say whether Nintendo maintains the "Super Mario" Twitter account. Granting that it is, it could be used by the Japanese gaming giant to share the latest news and update on the content related to the 35th anniversary of the world's most iconic plumber. Several rumors also claimed that it could be related to the company's plan of releasing a remaster of "Super Mario."

There are a lot of "Super Mario" titles that could potentially get a remake in celebration of the icon's 35th anniversary. This includes "Super Mario Sunshine," "Super Mario 64" and "Super Mario Galaxy." Whispers online also claimed that Nintendo might release a new "Paper Mario" title, which might arrive by the end of this week.

VGC also reported that a source told the site that Nintendo intends to release a "Super Mario" title this year. The Japanese company might release a Deluxe version of the popular 2013 release "Super Mario 3D World." Earlier, Nintendo launched a couple of flagship licensing deals aimed for the commemoration of the anniversary.

These are the "Lego Mario: set and a range of Uniqlo apparels. The clothing is particularly branded for the 35th anniversary of "Super Mario Bros." In 2015, the company celebrated the 30th anniversary of the world's most popular plumber.

The occasion was commemorated with a lot of events and merchandise. Nintendo offered a couple of special edition 8-bit "Mario Amiibos." The 30th anniversary celebration concluded with the launch of "Super Mario Maker" for Wii U. It is important to note that while this new set of information is exciting, this is unconfirmed and unofficial. In this case, it is wiser to take this with a pinch of salt.
