Kanye West announced on Twitter that he would be dropping a new album, titled Donda, which seemed to be a nod to his late mother, Donda West. However, a lot of fans might have missed it after the presidential aspirant deleted his tweet minutes after he posted it.
The so-called LP was said to be out this week, on Friday, July 24. But, it looked like West had a change of mind again, which possibly meant that it would never see the light of the day like his other hanging projects.
According to Forbes, the 43-year-old rapper earlier shared a snippet of a new track called "Donda" also on Twitter. The supposed new album title is believed to be a new name for the previously announced God's Country.
The handwritten photo of the tracklist showed the song titles "In God's Country" and "God's Country." It also includes a new single, "Wash Us In the Blood," and another song, called "New Body."
"New Body" has been making some noise online since last year. It was initially set to appear on the unreleased album Yandhi, which West promised to be out in 2018. However, two years have passed; fans haven't seen even the shadow of it.
Fans seem to like the song's leaked version, featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Nicky Minaj. Out of the several leaked songs from Yandhi, this tune received the most positive feedback.
They described it as "one of the most complete-sounding" songs from the album. Hence, fans have been clamoring for its official release. The song "New Body" also trended on Twitter after West made his now-deleted announcement.
The publication noted Kim Kardashian's husband has a lot of unreleased works that it already rivals his official discography. Some of his still hanging projects are Good Ass Job, Watch the Throne 2, and Turbografx 16, among others.
USA Today added that West is kind of volatile when it comes to releasing his projects on time. Although he managed to release his much-awaited Jesus is King album in October last year, fans waited four weeks before it was officially dropped.
His ninth album was supposed to be out in September. However, according to reports, it was a "long and bumpy road to release."
Kardashian first teased Jesus is King on social media in late August. Like what West did with Donda, his wife dropped a handwritten tracklist with a Sept. 27 release date. However, the day came and went, that album was never out. It only saw the light of the day on Oct. 24, when it hit the streaming platforms.
