Cleveland Cavaliers team owner Dan Gilbert continues to find ways to do good business. Part of that was making Quicken Loans public. The move is unusual but something that will reel in dividends. The same is expected from the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he has invested heavily in players.

Ever since the departure of LeBron James, the Cavs have been struggling to find a new identity. While that is understandable since they were relying on the NBA star a lot, Cleveland needs to establish a new one and fast. And they do have the resources to achieve that, The Athletic reported.

Kevin Love is still around, someone most thought was going to be traded. Part of that was the frustration behind former head coach John Beilein. The former Michigan coach has since been replaced by J.B. Bickerstaff and signs of promise were seen before the season came to a halt. Cleveland players found a renewed sense of purpose, hinting that the Cavs could bounce back next season with a better showing.

Cleveland has all the tools to rebound well next NBA season. Aside from Love, they have Andre Drummond, Collin Sexton and Coby White. Tristan Thompson is another player in the mix though he is out of a contract. The Canadian mentioned he would not settle for anything less than what he is making, yet another investment Gilbert may have to make. Also, the Cavs plan to keep the 29-year-old big man since they have grown fond of him.

There is also Bickerstaff who seems to be the perfect coach based on the feedback from players. Main stars have spoken highly of the 41-year-old coach, something Beilein never really got. With most players holding high regard for Bickerstaff, the chances of the Cavs to bounce back and start a new era is looking bright.

Heading into the offseason, the Cavs may need to bring in a player or two to make it all work. Their frontline is one of the best ones in the NBA, something pundits have overlooked. What they need are veterans who can play the point guard position. Matthew Dellavedova is around but has hardly made an impact.

Aside from a veteran playmaker, adding shooters would be another department they need to improve on. There will be several names in the free-agent market and the rookie draft they can tap. If the Cavs address these two departments, there is no reason why Cleveland will not perform better next NBA season.
