Sarah Ferguson and the rest of the Royal Family members are dealing with a lot of issues at the moment. But, the Duchess of York finally broke her silence on her daughter Princess Beatrice’s secret wedding.

When Princess Beatrice announced that she would be marrying property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020, a lot of royal fans were very excited about the upcoming nuptials. However, the announcement was made back in September, where things were a lot different from the recent months.

Two months after the announcement, Princess Beatrice’s father Prince Andrew withdrew from royal life for “the foreseeable future” following a scandalous interview with BBC Newsnight, where his alleged involvement to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal was discussed. Then, early this year, Bea’s cousin Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle announced that they would be stepping back their senior royal roles.

It was, previously, reported that Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s nuptials will not be covered by BBC. The British public service broadcaster said that it will not show extended live footage of the wedding but will only offer “news coverage of the wedding across our services” instead.

So, why are the BBC and ITV — and possibly other broadcasting companies — were not as eager to cover Princess Beatrice’s wedding like the other royal weddings? There is a high chance that Prince Andrew’s interview with BBC Newsnight may have impacted the decision making.

With a lot of things going on in the royal family, Princess Beatrice, reportedly, wanted to have a scaled-down wedding instead. In fact, she probably didn’t want the BBC to cover her wedding in the first place.

Now, Sarah Ferguson shared that she could not be prouder of Princess Beatrice. The Duchess of York took to Instagram to post a loving message to both of her daughters while thanking royal fans for their well wishes.

"Never has a mother been more proud than the wedding of Eugenie and Jack, and again with my Beatrice’s loving wedding to Dear Edo. I am so lucky with my girls, and now the best sons-in-law,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Princess Beatrice are very close. So, the Duke of Sussex was expected to attend his cousin’s wedding despite his and Meghan Markle's withdrawal. A royal expert then said that the nuptials would be a good moment for the royal family to be together again in a happy and loving environment, which they truly needed after the major shake-up.

However, due to the coronavirus emergency protocol, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not able to attend Princess Beatrice’s wedding.
