Prince Harry is now a full-fledged family man. He is married for two years to Meghan Markle, and they share a one-year-old son, Archie. But, things were a lot different when the Duke of Sussex was still single.

When Prince Harry was still a bachelor, he was famously dubbed as the “royal bad boy” since he seemed to enjoy the party life a little bit too much. While Prince William settled down and got himself ready for his role as the future king of England, the younger son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana lived his life to the fullest as if he didn’t have a royal title to protect.

In fact, Prince Harry even decided to assume an alternate identity so he could enjoy his party life without causing any attention. Daily Mail previously reported that the Duke of Sussex introduced himself as “Rob” instead of his real name. This way, the “Party Prince” could sneak his way into bars and nightclubs in London without being recognized.

Of course, this all happened when Prince Harry was still not linked to Meghan Markle. Now, the Duke of Sussex is over his partying ways and is now a doting dad to his son.

Meanwhile, many believed that Prince Harry was always destined to distance himself away from Royal life. A previous report claimed that the Duke of Sussex couldn’t handle having a royal title and wanted to strip it off him. But, he eventually decided to stay when he realized that he wanted to have a purpose.

“I felt I wanted out but then decided to stay in and work out a role for myself,” Prince Harry told royal expert Angela Levin three years ago.

With that revelation, many feared that Prince Harry might have threatened the stability of the monarchy. However, royal commentator Sarah Gristwood said that it wasn’t the case. But, she did note that the Duke of Sussex’s statement was a risk as it could “raise questions about the functions of the Royal Family.” It also opened up discussions about what would happen if the Duke of Sussex did decide not to be a prince anymore. Will there be penalties?

Fast forward to 2020, and Prince Harry officially stepped down from his senior royal role with Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced, in January, that they would withdraw from their roles to focus on their family and charities.

Their withdrawal was a complete shock to a lot of people, including the Royal Family. However, Queen Elizabeth, eventually, released a statement saying that she supports Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision.
