Power Book II: Ghost is coming within a few months on Starz. The spin-off series will pick up the events that happened in Power series finale, with Tariq James St. Patrick being the center of the story. New characters are, also, arriving that could shake things up for him and her mother, Tasha St. Patrick.
One of the newest additions in Power Book II: Ghost is The Fosters and Locke & Key star Sherri Saum. She will be playing the role of Paula Matarazzo, a top investigator and the right-hand of arrogant defense lawyer Davis MacLean.
Matarazzo will be one of the most important characters in the spin-off series, especially since MacLean is instrumental in getting Tasha out of jail. She was accused of murdering her husband, James "Ghost" St. Patrick, but just took the fall to cover up for her son Tariq, who actually killed his father.
It's still unclear whether Saum took on the before production was halted or will take it once the series resumes filming. It's interesting to see her being part of the world and working alongside returning actors Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, Cliff "Method Mad" Smith, Mary J. Blige, and others.
Power Book II: Ghost sees Tariq doing whatever he can to help his mother while getting away with the murder he committed at the same time. He recognized that doing this is not easy and needs the help of others. He's a student by day but tangled himself in the criminal world by night.
Tariq is adjusting with his new world following the earth-shattering events that transpired in Power. He is, now, living on his own for the first time in his life, splitting his time between his school and finding a way to pay the hungry-fame defense lawyer MacLean.
Tariq is struggling to balance his grades, love life, and family. The only way to avoid the same fate his father met is to become a better version of Ghost. However, he is left with no option and turned himself into the drug game and met a notorious family headed by Monet Stewart Tejada.
Meanwhile, the entire production on Power Book II: Ghost hasn't been completed as filming was forced to shut down due to the global health crisis. Despite that, we could see new episodes coming within a few months. Cast and crew may also resume working later this year.
Power Book II: Ghost premieres in September on Starz.
