Lucifer season 5 is coming next month on Netflix and will be introducing a new Big Bad. The biggest adversary in the new installment is Lucifer Morningstar's twin brother, Michael. But aside from his arrival, the series will also introduce other new characters, including Ella's new love interest.

Pete Daily is one of the newest characters in Lucifer season 5, and he could be a perfect match for Ella. According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, the character will be played by Under the Dome star Alex Koch. He is the newest addition in the series and could shake things up for Aimee Garcia's character.

Pete Daily is a Los Angeles reporter and described as "endearing, nerdy, and friendly." He met Ella while catching a story about one of the cases of Lucifer and Chloe. This is a chance for Pete and Ella to share some geeky interests together, as long as nothing could cause them to fall apart.

Garcia told the aforementioned outlet that her character will finally be dating a good guy in Lucifer season 5. It's nice to see her being in a position where she's seemingly finding her own happiness. Pete could be one of the people who can change how she views certain things.

The actress said Ella and Pete's relationship is much more intimate since it's not just physical. They go to wine and candlelight dinner, as well as Star Trek conventions as well. Garcia said the two are a match made in heaven and that Pete is the male version of Ella.

But aside from her new love interest, Lucifer season 5 will also explore other stories in Ella's life. In the previous season, the bubbly and optimistic character went through a crisis of faith after the death of Charlotte Richards and she'll continue to spiral as she faces a new personal struggle.

The presence of Michael as the newest Big Bad is one of the major concerns in the new installment. He could hurt and take advantage of Ella, especially since she doesn't know who Lucifer really is. She's been through a lot of pain and has dealt a crisis of faith.

Garcia explained that Ella will have a crisis of self, which us hard to watch but relatable. In the new season, we're going to see a different side of her that wasn't seen before. There could be changes in her since, especially after showing a little bit to her darker side.

Lucifer season 5 will be arriving on Friday, Aug. 21, on Netflix.
