Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently shared more updates about the Cybertruck electric pickup truck. The much-awaited all-electric truck with polarizing design might be available to the market in the late part of 2021. Interestingly, Musk is now singing a different tune about the color options for the Cybertruck.

Cybertruck Color Options

It was earlier announced that the body of the Tesla Cybertruck would be made of cold-rolled steel. In a recent Twitter Q&A, Tesla CEO Elon Musk tried very hard to resist that idea that the all-electric pickup truck would be available in other color options aside from grey. Musk said that buyers would have the option to wrap Cybertruck's body in any color they wish, but he did not confirm whether it would be available as a factory option or not.

But, it turned out that buyers could get color options for the Tesla Cybertruck. This is because steels could be tempered at various temperatures to change its color. Elon Musk is, in a way, saying that the same principle applies to cold-rolled steel. Based on this principle, the Tesla Cybertruck could be available in Gray, burned Orange, and even Blue steel color options.

Musk also mentioned that color is not the only option for the forthcoming tesla Cybertruck. Other visually striking options could include adding decorations to the truck using laser tattooing. In an exchange with one of his followers, Musk noted that this could be a form of expression and personalization, as well as a cool option only available to Tesla Cybertruck.

While Musk's answers to his followers were exciting, the CEO is known for saying things that sometimes do not pan out. The Cybertruck is still a few years away from releasing, and a lot of things could still happen within the time span.

Cybertruck's Body

At the debut of the Tesla Cybertruck, Musk announced that the model is using cold-rolled 304 stainless steel, a tough material designed by Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen. However, the CEO recently hinted on Twitter that the company might have discovered something more robust that could replace the material on the body of its all-electric pickup truck. As reported by Teslarati, the new material is a new alloy 304 stainless steel.

The said material would reportedly be the same one that SpaceX would use on its future Starships. With this material, we are not certain if the color option would still be achievable.
