Contrasting the company's earlier announcement, Elon Musk recently confirmed that the U.S. electric vehicle maker would utilize a different kind of alloy for the much-awaited Tesla Cybertruck. The company launched the electric pickup last year and was well-received by the industry. The company plans to release the cyberpunk truck sometime in 2021.

On his official Twitter account, Tesla and Space X CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the alloy the company initially planned for the Space X has now changed. He said that the company is rapidly changing the alloy constituents, and forming methods like 304L will be more of an approximation. The CEO also confirmed that the change would also apply to the forthcoming electric pickup truck.

It was earlier reported that both Space X and Tesla are working to create new materials in space and Earth. These companies have been forming material engineering teams to create not only new but advanced materials for their products. The project began in 2016 when Musk hired Charles Kuehmann, a former Apple employee and alloy expert.

Kuehmann is the project's lead in materials engineering of both Tesla and Space X. Since then, the former Apple employee and his team have been creating new alloys for both companies. It looks like one for the Tesla Cybertruck and Space X's Starship is still developing ahead of production. Interestingly, the team has already developed variations of existing allows such as 304L PSP called as 304L.

It can be recalled that when Tesla launched the Cybertruck, one of its most interesting features is that it would not be made like the standard vehicle. The company promised to use a special kind of alloy, probably similar to that used in Space X's spaceship. The company also said that the Cybertruck's would not have the conventional body system but with an exoskeleton.

The U.S electric vehicle maker debuted the cyberpunk electric pickup truck Cybertruck in November 2019. Until now, the Cybertruck is still one of the trucks with the most polarizing designs to launch in decades. Many fans find the vehicle's design a steal from a sci-fi movie.

Others think it is a dystopian Matrix dozer while others think the Tesla Cybertruck is the first flat-pack vehicle. The electric pickup truck is drawing near its production. Musk also recently confirmed that the much-awaited pickup would be developed in the new Tesla facility in Austin, Texas. Unfortunately, the initial early 2021 release might be delayed to late 2021.
