ARMYs will be treated to another comeback this year as BTS confirmed that they will release a new digital single this August and a new album before the end of the year.

According to RM, J-Hope, Suga, Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, they will drop the digital single on August 21 through domestic and international music sites. The boys made the announcement during a live stream on the V Live platform last July 27, reported All Kpop.

BTS members that the song will be an upbeat summer-inspired song that will serve as a pre-release of their new album, which will be made available for purchase before the end of the year.

It can be recalled that BTS broke sales and chart records when they released their Map of the Soul: 7 comebacks last February. The group promoted the song mainly in the U.S. as the coronavirus pandemic put a hinge on promotional activities and mass gatherings in Korea.

Still, the pandemic has not stopped BTS from staging sold-out concerts online. Their recent online concert, Bang Bang Con: The Live, was recently recognized by no less than the Guinness World Record for being the most-watched online concert in history.The online concert which was streamed through the WeVerse platform.

While early reports indicated that the concert was attended by 700,000 viewers, official records from Guinness indicated that 756,000 fans from over 100 countries tuned in the June 14 concert. This is an amazing feat for any artist as this is equivalent to over 50 sold-out arenas with a capacity of 15,000 seats each, Korea Herald reported.

ARMYs also paid around 34 USD per ticket to watch the show online. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if BTS will be able to set more records with their upcoming pre-release single and album this year. Apart from the two upcoming releases, BTS V also confirmed that he is preparing to release his solo mixtape also before the end of the year.

He already teased that he was working on songs recently but, after his confirmation, V said that he was feeling the pressure of coming up with an album from scratch. 

While BTS remains busy with their preparations, some fans are also hoping that Jin's enlistment date will not happen sooner than expected. As the eldest BTS member, Jin is expected to enlist for mandatory service this year. Suga, who is three months younger, may also receive his enlistment details soon after.
