The Blacklist season 8 hasn't started production yet, so there's still a question as to when it could officially arrive. Despite the uncertainties, the show's executive producers teased fans what's next for Raymond Reddington and the rest of the characters.

During the Comic-Con @ Home executive producers Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath discussed what lies ahead in The Blacklist season 8. Bokenkamp said the huge twist in the season 7 finale could get even more haywire. Liz's betrayal on Reddington, in particular, could be the center of the story.

The previous installment wasn't able to air the remaining last three episodes, so the story of Liz choosing Katarina over Reddington seemed to be accelerated. But, Bokenkamp explained that everything would be clear where Liz is going when the series returns.

Eisendrath, on the other hand, said that The Blacklist season 8 will start in a much more heightened and dramatic place than the normal. All of the big stuff at the end of season 7 will be incorporated in the upcoming installment, making it different from the preceding ones.

Both Bokenkamp and Eisendrath confirmed that the written episodes that weren't aired will still be filmed and the material wasn't changed. In terms of Reddington's current health condition, this could be a major plot point in the new season.

Eisendrath said this particular storyline allows the team to see a more emotional side of Reddington, who is dealing with an unknown illness. The idea of him being sick makes the character more vulnerable and less human since he has to deal with his own mortality.

Reddington's health condition has been hinted several times, but he doesn't want to reveal to everyone what's happening to him. But, he won't be able to deny this matter in The Blacklist season 8 since it is getting worse and taking a toll on him.

Reddington has been avoiding this matter and most of the people around his life are concerned about it. One of the reasons why he's hiding his condition is because he wanted to make sure that the people who are after him won't exploit his weakness. This is, also, the reason why only a few people in his circle know about his health condition.

Meanwhile, The Blacklist season 8 is, reportedly, planning to start filming in August in New York. If this schedule will be followed, then we could expect the new season premiering either October or November. Yet, this is still subjected to change depending on the situation.
