EXO-SC picked up their first music show victory for 1 Billion Views from Music Bank after the show updated their charts following a blunder.
According to Soompi, Music Bank acknowledged their error in tallying the scores for Music Bank's previous episode, wherein the show awarded the win to BLACKPINK for How You Like That.
The show's staff released an apology and explanation as to why EXO-SC was not ranked first in their K-chart.
Based on the explanation, the scores were tallied using data from digital streaming, broadcast appearances, viewer preference an album sales.
On the part of the broadcast appearance, the show tallies the number of times a song is played during KBS programs.This was where the error occurred.
As a result, EXO-SC was mistakenly ranked in second place while BLACKPINK was awarded another win.
Music Bank apologized for the error and immediately corrected the rankings on the K-Chart. In the corrected K-chart, EXO-SC's 1 Billion Views received a score of 6,431 points while BLACKPINK's How You Like That received 6,080 points. Hwasa's comeback Maria landed at 3rd place with 3,744 points.
EXO's Sehun and Chanyeol have been performing well in terms of charts and album sales for their first full album as a subunit.It can be recalled that, as soon as it came out, it immediately debuted at Gaon's Chart's physical album chart.
The album also performed well on the digital downloads chart as it charted at No. 1 in the first week, Soompi reported.
It also topped the iTunes chart in over 50 countries including Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. 1 Billion Views was, also, certified platinum by China's QQ Music and Kugou Music after it achieved sales over 1 million yuan in the space of just an hour and 25 minutes from its release.
It has been a great year so far for EXO's solo and subunit projects. Both Suho and Baekhyun released solo albums this year that was well-received by fans, while Kai is also preparing for his solo album.
EXO members have been focusing on individual and subunit projects this year in preparation for the members' entry to the military. EXO leader Suho reported for mandatory service last May and it is expected that '91 and '92 liners Baekhyun, Chen, and Chanyeol will receive their enlistment dates this year as well.
