There is a strong indication that Selena Gomez is the mystery collaborator for BLACKPINK's second pre-release single.

While YG Entertainment has still not made an official confirmation, many fans have already expressed excitement over the possible collaboration, Newsweek reported

Selena Gomez fits right into the profile of strong female artists that have, previously, worked with BLACKPINK. Last year, they collaborated with Dua Lipa for the Spotify record-breaking hit Kiss and Make Up.

BLACKPINK also kicked off 2020 with a surprise collab with the Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga for the track Sour Candy. BLACKPINK was one of the featured artists in Lady Gaga's album Chromatica. The collab is still considered one of the biggest Kpop projects to date.

Apart from the August release of the upcoming pre-release single, YG has yet to make any confirmations about the track, All Kpop reported.

However, the agency did drop the target release date for BLACKPINK's full album.

The label announced that BLACKPINK: THE ALBUM will be released on October 2, 2020. YG, also, announced plans to target a global market through systematic planning and execution.

An insider reported that YG will collaborate with Universal Music to take BLACKPINK's music to an international platform.

It can be recalled that BLACKPINK's Your Area World Tour, which staged concerts in Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia earned a massive following for Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rose.

However, local fans expressed dissatisfaction over BLACKPINK's lack of comeback compared to other Korean K-Pop groups.

YG seemed to make up for the complaint as they earlier announced BLACKPINK's three-part comeback this year which will kick off with two pre-release singles and culminate with BLACKPINK's first full album which is expected to carry 10 songs.

Among the most anticipated tracks in the album is BLACKPINK's collaboration with Ariana Grande's producer Tommy Brown, who was responsible for her hit Thank You, Next. It is, also, rumored that G-Dragon produced one of the tracks in the album after he was spotted in the studio with the members during one of Jennie's broadcast.

YG will, also, fulfill their long overdue promise to BLINKs that they will release BLACKPINK members' solo debuts after they complete promotions as a group. It was, previously, reported that Rose has already completed her album while Lisa is also working on her solo material.

Jisoo is expected to focus on her solo debut after BLACKPINK's final comeback this year.
