Aniston got a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Alex Levy on The Morning Show. Alternatively, Pitt is up for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his quick impersonation of Dr. Anthony Fauci on Saturday Night Live.

According to Hello! Magazine, the 56-year-old actor's SNL appearance may be too brief, but it definitely left a huge impression. Hence, it is no surprise that he scored an Emmy nomination.

However, as public gatherings are still prohibited, it may be impossible for the former couple to have an in-person reunion because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 72nd Emmys will take place on Sept. 20 in a telecast that Jimmy Kimmel will host.

But, it remains to be seen what will be its format. There are rumors the ceremony will happen virtually to follow the social distancing rules and other safety guidelines to avoid the spread of the virus, E! News noted.

Despite that, fans are still hopeful that they will see Pitt and Aniston in a sweet interaction again, although online. To recall, their 2020 SAG Awards reunion went viral for their sweet exchange.
