Chelsea F.C. played without Willian Borges da Silva when they lost in the FA Cup Final against Arsenal F.C. The Brazilian could have helped Frank Lampard's cause but an injury kept the 31-year-old old winger from playing. Looking ahead, there is no telling if Blues followers will ever see Willian don the Blues shirt moving forward.

Willian has a decision to make on whether to stay or move out of Stamford Bridge. He has several clubs keen on getting his signature and Lampard knows he can only do so much. Right now, he can only wait as to what the 31-year-old plans to do.

“It is his decision, I haven’t got that answer," Lampard said. "I know the situation at the club’s end. I have a great relationship with Willian, but I don’t actually know what the decision is."

Willian wants a three-year deal, aware that his playing career is reaching a crucial point. It may be the last big one he could get but making sure he has a club in the next three years is what is important. Even before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, the Brazilian made it clear this was the deal he was looking for. Chelsea could only offer a two-year deal, a reason why multiple teams are now fielding offers.

Lampard can only do so much to keep Wilian. And thinking ahead, the 42-year-old coach is already making plans in the event the Brazilian does play elsewhere.

The Blues have been linked to several players to fill up key positions of the team. Lampard is looking at defensive players to perk up its midfield, not to mentioned skim the market for goalkeepers. So far, the names of Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Declan Rice have been mentioned as possible targets to shore up the Blues' defensive line. Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are already secured and another one could be joining them.

Havertz is seen as the player most likely to be the next. Though there are have been no formal offers made, it is believed that the reason for this is because Chelsea was focusing on the FA Cup Final. With that over and done with, some new signings could happen in the coming days.

As for goalkeeping, it is no secret that Lampard is not content with the efforts of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Willy Caballero. There are several shot-stoppers believed to be on the Blues' wish list such as Van Oblak, Dean Henderson and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
