ARMYs and EXO-Ls are bonding over BTS and EXO's nomination for this year's MTV Video Music Awards. The news is something that is warming the hearts of fandoms all over the world.

While BTS and EXO are in strong competition for being the top Kpop act, fans set the contest aside and celebrated the nominations of both groups in good spirits.

There may have been a time that ARMYs and EXO-Ls may have been firing shots against each other but the recent spate of goodwill on social media seems to mark a smoother relationship between the two powerful fandoms.

It can be recalled that BTS recently received three nominations for the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards including Best Kpop, Best Choreography, and Best Pop. EXO was nominated for the first time for the Best Kpop category.

The nominations sent ripples of excitement among EXO-Ls who wished that EXO would be invited to perform on the MTV stage. With Suho currently enlisted for military service, some expressed hope that Lay would step up and rejoin his members to perform Obsession before an international audience.

ARMYs who felt sentimental about EXO-Ls' wishes said that they would support the performance if it materializes. This sparked a touching exchange between the two fandoms who reminisced about the time that BTS and EXO would attend awards shows in South Korea.

Pretty soon, images surfaced of BTS and EXO members sharing laughter and hugs as they bumped into each other in events, making ARMYs and EXO-Ls look back fondly over the memories. Many fans even said that they would vote for both BTS and EXO for the awards.

According to many, they are hopeful that this is a sign that the fandoms are maturing and that there would be no need to be combative against each other anymore.

While members of EXO are focusing on subunit and individual promotions this year in preparation for more members enlisting for mandatory service, BTS is gearing to release their summer track Dynamite on August 21.

The track is their first full English song which has an upbeat vibe that members hope will uplift the spirit and mood of their fans who are feeling down because of the Coronavirus pandemic. A new album is, also, expected to come out before the end of the year, Billboard reported.

Also, V is, reportedly, preparing to release his first mixtape before the end of the year.
