Mesut Ozil continues to sit it out for Arsenal F.C. and some have already concluded that the German is on the way out. The 31-year-old has yet to play a single minute for the Gunners. This has raised questions about his relationship with Mikel Arteta. But for Jack Wilshere, there may be something more to Ozil.

For someone who has played alongside Ozil in the past, Wilshere is left wondering what is going on between the German and the Gunners. The word going around is that Ozil has not aligned with the vision of head coach Mikel Arteta and seems fine being paid even if he is not seeing action.

Wilshere believes if Ozil is focused and utilized he could be the perfect partner for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The 28-year-old who now plays for Watford should know. He got the chance to play alongside the German and explained how Ozil could efficiently feed his teammates during matches. For him, an Ozil-Aubameyang combo would be deadly.

"Especially with Aubameyang, the type of player he is, you can imagine Ozil sat behind him feeding him balls. It would be unbelievable," Wilshere said on TalkSPORT. "It's obviously something that we don't know about. I'm sure Arteta has definitely got a plan and he's putting that into practice."

Further, Wilshere believes that there may be something brewing at Emirates Stadium. Arteta has been known to pick the right players for the right games. But Ozil's case is loaded with intrigue and some claim his laid-back nature has contributed to him being kept out of games.

From a business point of view, the fact that Ozil is earning a big salary could be a sign that Arsenal plan to redirect funds from that to other players. At 31, Arsenal knows that Ozil's playing days are numbered so a move out of Emirates Stadium is a possibility.

The concentration right now is on Aubameyang who has yet to sign a new deal. Arsenal is waiting for the Gabonese to sign a contract extension but Aubameyang seems inclined to check out other pitches first. FC Barcelona is interested in him and the 31-year-old wants to see what it plans to offer. Wilshere advises Aubameyang to stay.

"If I was him I'd stay, but it's easy for me to say that. Listen, as I said, it's important they keep him because he's their go-to man, he's their best player, he's their leader," Wilshere said.
