Starz announced that Power Book II: Ghost will premiere next month and the official release date has been, finally, revealed. The network confirmed that the Power spin-off will be releasing its new episodes starting on Sunday, September 6.

This is good news for those who are waiting for Power Book II: Ghost, given that the series faced a lot of challenges. The spin-off wasn't able to finish the entire production as filming was underway when the real-life health crisis hits the globe.

Despite that, Starz decided to release new episodes next month. As for when filming could resume, there is no news when could cast and crew start working again. But, perhaps, everyone could return on set when the situation gets a little bit better.

Meanwhile, Power Book II: Ghost picks up the earth-shattering events in Power, wherein Tasha (Naturi Naughton) was accused of murdering her husband, Ghost. However, she's only covering up her son, Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr.), who's actually responsible for the crime.

In one of the recent clips, Tasha is being interrogated about what happened to Ghost. Many believe she is the one who did it, but she's only doing this to protect her son. What Tariq needs to do now is to clear his mother's name and cover up the crime he committed.

Tariq adjusts with his new world following his father's death and his mother facing charges in Power Book II: Ghost. He wanted to become a better man, unlike his father. But, he recognized that the only way for him to avoid the same fate his father met is to be a better version of Ghost.

However, Tariq is the one who killed his father and this event leads him to go on his own journey and seek help from others to get his mother out of prison. Along the way, he meets a high-powered defense attorney named Davis MacLean (Method Man), who could help him save Tasha.

Davis is good at his job, that's why Tariq is desperate to hire him. But, the problem here is that the lawyer wanted more money from him since it is a high-profile case. So, Tariq will do whatever he can to get more money and pay Davis.

Power Book II: Ghost sees Tariq splitting his time between school and finding ways to pay the fame-hungry defense lawyer. When he ran out of options, he turned to the familiar drug game. Eventually, his journey leads him to meeting the powerful kingpin Monet Stewart Tejada (Mary J. Blige).
