Korean OST queen Gummy, and her husband, Hospital Playlist star Jo Jung Suk, welcomed their first child on August 6.

Fans of both celebrities welcomed the happy news that was announced by Jo Jung Suk's agency, JAM Entertainment.  In the statement, the agency confirmed that Gummy safely gave birth to a healthy baby girl at a hospital in Seoul on Thursday morning. The agency said that both mother and daughter are doing well after the delivery, Soompi reported.

JAM Entertainment further said that Jo Jung Suk and Gummy are both overjoyed over the birth of their first child and are receiving well wishes from friends and fans with gratitude. They said the couple was looking forward to the fans' support as they enter a new chapter in their lives.

It can be recalled that the happy couple tied the knot on October 2018 after years of dating. Unlike other celebrities, they did not have an extravagant wedding. Instead, they chose to keep it simple with a promise ceremony where they pledged their lives to each other in an intimate celebration.

In an interview last year, Jo Jung Suk said that they were happily living together after their marriage, even though they were both busy with work. He filmed two movies last year, namely: the action-packed Hit and Run and his blockbuster movie with Yoona titled EXIT.  Jo Jung Suk, also, concluded his tVN medical drama Hospital Playlist this year, which was also aired over Netflix.

Jo Jung Suk said that they have always been a low key couple and have, now, found even more stability with their marriage.  He has also been open with his desire to have kids. In an interview during his newlywed days, he said that he was jealous of his co-star Jung Sang Hoon, who had three kids at the time.

For her part, Gummy said that she loved how her husband was very detailed. She said she always knew she wanted to marry him because they had a good connection and he understood her feelings more than she did herself. She said she did not doubt that she could spend her entire life with him, All Kpop reported.

Recently, Gummy, who is known as Korea's Queen of OST, contributed a track entitled Your Day to the soundtrack of Dr. Romantic 2. She, also, won Best OST at the Mnet Music Awards and Melon Music Awards for last year's song Remember Me, which she performed for IU's Hotel del Luna.
