Princess Diana became one of the most iconic British Royals in history. When she arrived in the royal fold, reports said that she became even more popular than her husband, who is also the next person in line to the British Throne.
Aside from her personality and character, she gained a lot of fans because of her beauty, style, and fashion choices. This is why many fashion brands, reportedly, wanted to dress and style her.
In terms of the Princess of Wales' fashion statements, all seemingly became iconic and memorable. She appeared to have tried various brands and logos, especially after her separation.
Speaking to Harper's Bazaar Australia, however, Australian designer Jayson Brundson discussed how Princess Diana "refused" to wear her Chanel shoes during one of her last public engagements. He revealed that this happened not long after her divorce to Prince Charles.
The designer said that he was able to help the Princess of Wales in accessorizing her outfit that day. The royal's hairdresser, Joh Bailey, asked him to be his assistant for that specific event in Australia.
Brundson claimed that the late Princess came out, holding a handful of shoes and bags. Upon "dumping" them on the couch, she, reportedly, asked him what he thinks about them.
When he saw a pair of Chanel shoes, he recommended them for her to wear. But, Princess Diana, allegedly, answered that she could not wear them because of the brand's logo, the double C. After asking the reason behind it, the Princess of Wales replied that it is "Camilla and Charles."
Reports said that this was not the first time the Princess' saw a connection between her shoes and her relationship with the Prince of Wales. In an episode of the Royally Obsessed podcast, the hosts, Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie talked about Princess Diana's choices of footwear during her relationship with the future King, according to Yahoo! Lifestyle. They, reportedly, concluded that the royal's footwear seemingly varied depending on the status of the Wales couple's relationship.
During their engagement, the late Princess wore a pair of flats. The hosts noted that the Princess' towering height was similar to the royal-born Prince's. So, choosing not to tower over her husband with the use of a pair of flats indicates that they were in a "good place."
Years later, however, she started to wear pairs of heels. This, reportedly, began when she stepped out wearing her infamous "revenge dress." Bowie and Fiorito, then, explained that this happened after Prince Charles revealed his extra-marital affair to Camilla Parker-Bowles.
