The Boys season 2 is coming next month on Amazon Prime and many were excited with its arrival as the series has been constantly releasing teasers. Most of the sneak peeks highlight each character, with the latest one focusing on The Deep, who seemingly wanted to join the Seven again.
The Deep is one of the members of the Seven, but he did some unspeakable stuff to Starlight at the start for the first season. Since then, he's been excluded from the team and was degraded to a low-level hero elsewhere. Yet, it looks like he wanted to come back and be part of the team again in The Boys season 2.
In the most recent sneak peek, The Deep can be seen mourning after a tragedy struck one of his sea-friends. His beloved whale, Lucy, has been killed and he believed that The Boys are the reason why this happened. He pointed out where these "assassins" are going, hoping he could help the Seven.
The Deep made it clear he wanted to join the team again, but Starlight isn't down with the idea. Her reaction is understandable, especially after what he did to her in the past. She is interested in moving forward than allowing him to be part of the team again.
While none of the Seven may want to pair up with The Deep anytime soon, they also recognized he has some valuable intel about The Boys. Perhaps, they'll collaborate with him in the short-term and will realize his value in the process.
Aside from The Deep, The Boys season 2 also released a sneak peek featuring Black Noir. Although this character is alive, he's one of the most forgotten members of the Seven. But, it looks like he'll have an important role moving forward.
The clip showed what Black Noir can do and how dangerous he can be. He's the silent member of the team and has superhuman strength and agility. He conceals his appearance through his dark costume and could kill a person without them knowing.
Meanwhile, there is no need to worry about the future of the series as The Boys season 2 won't be the final installment. During the Comic-Con @ Home presentation, Amazon Prime confirmed that the show has been officially renewed for a third installment.
In a statement, showrunner Eric Kripke said Amazon has greenlit The Boys season 3 and they're hoping to start shooting early next year, but it all depends on the current situation. If the plan will push through, the third installment could premiere either in late 2021 or early 2022.
The Boys season 2 premieres on Friday, Sept. 4, on Amazon Prime.
