J-Hope loves to make ARMYs and his members laugh, so he would usually do some silly things to brighten up their day. The “Ego” rapper would go all out as to making faces and acting funny, which is why a lot of people often forget that he’s one extremely attractive guy.

But, when BTS released the first set of teaser images for their comeback single, “Dynamite,” on August 10, J-Hope reminded the whole fandom that he deserves to be the group’s visual. In fact, even non-ARMYs are falling for him, earning him the new title “Guy in the black shirt.”

“Wait. Who’s the guy on the right with the black shirt?” one asked. “They look cool, but who’s that guy wearing a black T-shirt?” another one wondered. “BTS really be having that black shirt guy in their group. Cool,” one netizen stated. A non-ARMY even went on to say that they would start “stanning” BTS because of the “guy in the black shirt.”

This is definitely not the first time J-Hope has snatched the hearts of locals. When the BTS boys were guest stars in James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke back in February, many were smitten by the rapper. Many took to social media to not only share how much they like him but also to ask ARMYs for his name.

Since J-Hope is not the only member sitting in the middle as Suga is also sitting between Jin and V at the back seat, locals tried to be specific in describing who they meant. They pointed out the one in the middle “with curly hair and big smile” and “the guy in the middle with ripped jeans.” Suga had straight hair, and his pants could not be seen, so it was clear that they meant J-hope.

In January, J-Hope also earned the title “the guy in the red jacket” after their Grammys 2020 performance. But, even before that, J-Hope was already trending on Twitter when he wore a see-through shirt underneath his layered ensemble.

Also, he trended because he spoke fluent English during BTS’ Grammys 2020 red carpet interview with Ryan Seacrest. Since RM is the only member who speaks English comfortably, foreign hosts would usually ask him all the questions. What these hosts didn’t know is the fact that the rest of the BTS boys have been studying English, and J-Hope was more than ready to show off what he had learned.

But, J-Hope snatching local hearts had been going on for quite a while. After BTS performed “Mic Drop” and “DNA” on Dick Clark's New Years Rockin’ Eve in 2018, the hashtags #TheOneWithTheRedHair, #GuyWithTheRedHairBTS, and #TheGuyWithTheGoldenJacket quickly trended as locals wanted to know his name and some even said that they'll check him out.
