Love, Victor season 2 is, officially, coming on Hulu. The streaming platform renewed the follow-up of the Love, Simon movie in just less than two months after its pilot. The first season was a success and it opens more doors to several stories moving forward.
Many were delighted by the news that Love, Victor season 2 is happening on Hulu. Originally, the series was meant to be on Disney+ but it was moved to Disney's other streaming service instead. The show's current home is more fitting to the story as it allows the content to be edgier and more creative.
Co-showrunner Brian Tanen told TVLine that it's a "gigantic win" they're on Hulu moving forward. He said it opens their ability to deliver more adult content, including telling sexier stories. Tanen revealed that the new installment will "push the envelope" while the titular character is exploring his sexuality.
The series tells the story of the new student Creekwood High School named Victor and focuses on his journey of self-discovery. He's struggling with his sexual orientation and faces several challenges at home. When the situation gets complicated, he reached out to his friend, Simon.
Love, Victor season 2 will pick up the events that happened in season 1 finale. Victor and Benji are starting their brand new relationship. But, Mia is broken-hearted because the two are together now. This situation could cause conflict and tension between them.
Also, now that Victor comes out to his parents, we could see him more self-assured in the new season. The first installment focused on the titular character trying to figure out who and what he is, while the second installment will tell a whole new different story.
In Love, Victor season 2, Tanen teased that the titular character will explore other aspects of his life, including first relationship, first love, and first sexual experience. He said that all the rich fabric of the teenage experience will be addressed and told through the LGBTQ+ lens.
Meanwhile, even though the series has been renewed, we can't expect it to arrive anytime soon. Just like other series out there, Love, Victor season 2 won't start production immediately due to the current health crisis. The new season could premiere in 2021 it there won't be any further delays in filming.
