Princess Beatrice and her new husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are, reportedly, up for a major transition in the royal family. The pair is, allegedly, set to step in for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who quit their royal roles in March.

Royal editor Rob Jobson said that there's a strong chance Queen Elizabeth will ask her fifth grandchild and her husband to perform some royal work for The Firm. The Queen, allegedly, has a special relationship with the York princess and may soon be "promoted" in the family business.

Jobson said that Prince Harry and Meghan attend about to 600 to 800 royal engagements within a year that could no longer be fulfilled because they quit The Firm. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York and Beatrice's father, also, resigned from his post in November 2019, leaving another vacant role to fill.

The royal expert said that he does not expect Princess Beatrice and Edo to be as popular as Prince Harry and Meghan if they do become working royals. However, having an extra hand in The Firm could "ease the burden" of attending charity events and other significant activities that need royal representation. Jobson said that the presence of a royal family member could usually bring a 25 percent boost in charity's fundraising drive.

Princess Beatrice, occasionally, performs royal functions for the House of York but her duties are limited. Whether she and Edo could step into this role full time is still up in the air since the newly-weds also have their own jobs. The York royal works for the U.S. technology firm, Afiniti, while her husband runs a successful property development company in London.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice, recently, celebrated her 32nd birthday quietly. The Queen led the birthday greetings on the internet with a post on Instagram. It was of a photo of Her Majesty with her granddaughter during the Maundy Thursday church service last 2019.

Princess Eugenie, also, posted two sweet photos to greet her sister on her birthday. The first image was taken before Beatrice's wedding day and the second photo was a throwback from 1990s. Both times, Beatrice had a scrunchie (hair accessory) on her hair.

Princess Beatrice's birthday is, actually, extra special because she was born on Aug. 8, 1988 at 8:18 p.m. Her mom, Sarah Ferguson, said that the princess is "simply one of the most special people" in the world because of this.
