Good Witch season 7 won't be releasing a Halloween special episode this year. The series usually drops such episodes after every season and before the new installment premieres on Hallmark Channel. However, the tradition won't be followed this time around, mostly because of the global health crisis.
According to a recent report from TVLine, Good Witch season 7 will not have a Halloween special episode this year due to the real-life health crisis happening around the world at the moment. It would be difficult for both cast and crew to start filming, considering the current situation.
While there are plans to begin production in the fall, the major challenge for the Halloween special episode is that it needed to air in the second-to-last week in October. There's no clear indication when the pandemic could end, making it hard for everyone to film the particular episode.
The filming location of the series is in Canada and it managed to handle contain the spread of the virus. Yet, although the situation is getting better there, the restrictions imposed in Toronto should be followed. For instance, cast and crew need to go into a 14-day quarantine period before working.
While the series is facing several filming challenges at the moment, the good news is that a lot of cast members are returning in Good Witch season 7. Kat Barrell, in particular, is coming back as Joy Harper once the show returns on Hallmark Channel.
The actress first joined the series in season 6 and she became an essential character since then. However, it's yet to be seen whether or not she'll be part of the entire season since she also plays Nicole Haught on Syfy's Wynonna Earp.
Also, Scott Cavalheiro is coming back as Adam Hawkins in Good Witch season 7. There have been questions about the character's fate, especially after what happened to him in season 6 finale. Now, it's clear that the writers want to keep him around in the series. After all, his storyline with Stephanie is one of the interesting elements in the show.
Aside from Bell and Cavalheiro, other cast members set to return in the new season include Catherine Bell as Cassie Nightingale, Catherine Disher as Martha Tinsdale, Sarah Power as Abigail Pershin, Marc Bendavid as Donovan Davenport, Kylee Evans as Stephanie Borden, James Denton as Dr. Sam Radford, and Rhys Matthew Bond as Nick Radford.
Good Witch season 7 is, reportedly, not arriving until 2021 on Hallmark Channel.
