Actress Park Bo Young donated 20 million KRW to aid the flood victims of South Korea after a week of heavy downpour hit the country.

According to a report by All Kpop, the Strong Woman Do Bong Soon star donated 20 million KRW, or an equivalent of 16,860 USD, to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association.

It can be recalled that South Korea's biggest monsoon in seven years caused massive evacuation operations for some 3,000 people affected by the week-long downpour and floods.

Based on a report by CGTN, the death toll for the disaster already rose to 21 while 11 people remain missing. Local police officials, also, reported seven people injured.

The flood, reportedly, affected South Korea's central region, which includes the capital city of Seoul and nearby metropolitan areas. Seven cities have already been classified as special disaster zones, making the areas top priorities for state support and recovery efforts.

This was not the first time that Park Bo Young took the initiative to help the needy because she also donated 50 million KRW at the height of the COVID-19 health crisis in Korea to provide aid for families affected by the pandemic.

For her next project, Park Bo Young has signed on to the star-studded cast of disaster movie Concrete Utopia. It has, recently, been reported that the actress will star alongside Lee Byung Hyun and Park Seo Joon for the film, Asianwiki reported.

Concrete Utopia will center around a powerful earthquake that rocks Korea, leaving only one apartment building intact from the devastation.

Park Bo Young will play Park Seo Joon's wife in the film and their two characters will help survivors get through the aftermath of the disaster. Lee Byung Hun will take the role of the leader of the survivors.

The film is adapted from a webcomic entitled Yukwaehan Yiwoot written by Kim Soong-Nyoong. Vanishing Time director Uhm Tae Hwa will helm the movie.

It can be recalled that Park Bo Young had to take a break late last year after suffering from a persistent arm injury. In a VLive broadcast, the actress touched base with her fans to explain why she has not been very active in filming.

Now that she has recovered, Concrete Utopia is Park Bo Young's first major film under her new label BH Entertainment. The actress, recently, decided to part ways with Fides Spatium, which was her label for years, Soompi reported.
