With a new man at the helm, Juventus F.C. is expected to re-align its targets this summer. Originally, La Madamba was targeting Jorginho of Chelsea F.C. to beef up the squad. But with Andrea Pirlo taking over from Maurizio Sarri, the new target is Andrea Tonali of Brescia.

The development hardly comes as a surprise although there are new reports that Juve is not pursuing the 20-year-old Italian. According to Goal, the suggested pursuit of Tonali lacked essence and was branded as non-existent. The report added that it makes no sense to see Juve joining the race for the Italian who is also on the radar of several clubs. Among the teams interested in Tonali include Manchester United, AC Milan and Inter Milan.

Original target Jorginho remains a possibility though pundits feel that the chase may not come to fruition. The only reason why the 28-year-old was linked to a possible transfer is due to ties with Sarri. With Pirlo no calling the shots, that rumor is as good as dead.

Further, Jorginho did not seem determined to move out of Stamford Bridge. According to his agent, Joao Santos, the midfielder seems pretty much happy with the Blues. They plan to sit down with Chelsea this summer and discuss a possible contract extension.

“I read that, but I never had contact with them," Santos said back in April. “As of today, I know absolutely nothing about this situation. The lad is very happy in London, where he is proving his worth and still has three years left on his contract."

Regardless, there are changes that Pirlo is expected to make following his surprise appointment. The 41-year-old found himself taking over the embattled club not long after Juventus got booted out in the Champions League. Juve lost to Lyons in their last 16 match last Saturday.

Pirlo has been likened to Pep Guardiola despite his inexperience by former Brescia director Gianluca Nani. The appointment came as a surprise considering the 41-year-old was only named coach of Juve's U23 side at the end of July.

"He has a little bit of Guardiola [in him]," Nani said of Pirlo to the Daily Mail. "I don't see Pirlo playing with long balls! I see him playing attractive, offensive football, that is how I see Pirlo."

Pirlo proved his worth with Brescia when he was calling the shots in the youth ranks. Nani is convinced the 41-year-old manager can set Juventus back on track and he will have ample time to do that by identifying team needs. That includes skimming the market for new players and taking out the unneeded ones.
