Supernatural season 15 hasn't resumed production yet, but filming is expected to start again later this fall. The current installment, which serves as the series finale, was forced to shut down due to the global health crisis. And because of the situation, we could see a few changes in the story moving forward.

In a recent report from Entertainment Weekly, series star Jensen Ackles, Jared Padelecki, and Misha Collins shared a Zoom conversation with Texas senatorial candidate MJ Hegar and Senator Cory Booker to discuss everything from Supernatural season 15 to the importance of voting.

Hegar and Booker, who are both members of the #SPNFamily, asked the actors what it feels like living in the real world amid the global health crisis and how everyone could work to implement the same values as the Winchesters in real life.

All of them discussed their experiences during the pandemic and shared their thoughts on why it's crucial to vote. Then, Booker asked what the future holds for The CW series, considering the current situation. Ackles said that episode 19 is like a "season finale," while episode 20 is the real "series finale."

Furthermore, the actor noted that some adjustments have been made in Supernatural season 15. The scripts that they're going to shoot back in March have been changed to accommodate the pandemic. These changes may have something to do with eliminating certain scenes.

Perhaps, they're going to reduce group scenes, as well as people on set to follow the proper social distancing measures. The series films in Vancouver, where the situation is more stable. But still, a lot of things should be followed first as the safety of everyone remains to be the top priority.

The good thing is that some of the episodes of Supernatural season 15 have been filmed already. That means The CW could wrap up the series that way they wanted it to be, with only a few changes in the story. Also, the upcoming episodes will be important as the finale approaches.

In a previous interview with Variety, The CW boss Mark Pedowitz said that the final episodes are important to him and they'll be prioritized moving forward. The remaining two episodes that weren't filmed are essential in the story, where we could see a lot of surprises as the series comes to an end.

There is no specific schedule when Supernatural season 15 could resume filming. Yet, some speculated that cast and crew could go back to work later this fall. As for when the series finale is coming back, it could be released on either late 2021 or early 2022.
