Deadline reported that Supernatural shuts down production of the final season due to the threat brought by the coronavirus pandemic. The decision was made on Friday, Mar. 13, wherein they decided to suspend production in the interest of the safety of cast and crew members.
It's very likely that some of the last episodes of Supernatural's final season might get interrupted, especially since there's no sign the outbreak is slowing down as of yet. In addition, the delay may also impact Padalecki's follow up series Walker, Texas Ranger. He was slated to film the new series after the series finale of Supernatural tapes.
In general, there could be some changes to the production of most of the series over the next few months, considering that a lot of shows have been affected and delayed due to COVID-19 concerns. Right now, there are no indications that Supernatural and other series are returning anytime soon. For now, the top priority is the safety of the cast and crew members.
